Does anyone have an advice on how to get rid of fleas? I discovered my kitten Jemima had fleas a couple of days ago after she had been taken to my cousin's place. I've tried Frontline Plus, what I was wondering if there is anything else I could do to help get rid of the fleas(Cheaply hopefully, Frontline Plus is expensive). Anyway, absolutely any advice would be nice

Have you tried washing her? We had kittens on Kadzait's litter, our barn cat, and we just soaked them in water and kitty flea soap. And face it, flea colars don't work.

To be honest I haven't tried that yet. I'll try it over the weekend. Its a pity its so cold over here at the moment. I'm worried she might catch a cold

Is she allowed inside the house? I know ours weren't allowed, mostly because of the fleas and hygenic problems. I always wash them in the summer, around this time.... What country do you live in, Europe? It's very warm over here in America....

We live in Australia, but at this time of the year it is really cold But yeah, Jemima is completely an indoor cat, due to the fact she is a ragdoll and unable to protect herself an inch. When one of my other cats come up and sniff her, she jumps a mile ;D

Oh, that's so sweet! I've been trying to get my parents to take a vacation or something there, you're so lucky! Heh heh, my mum says we can't move there because they have funnel web spiders.... Jeez.... I mean, what's the point of living if you can't live life to the fullest? She just wants to live as long as she can and be bored while doing it...
Oh, right, back to subject.... So can't you wash her inside the house if she's an indoor cat? Plus, the fleas will probably be inside the house if she's an indoor cat, so the first thing to do (after washing her) would be to use frontline plus, if you've got that there, or really the leading brand of flea stuff. About the fleas possibly being indoors, then.... I'm no use there.

Taking a holiday here is a lot better than living here, though personally if I saw a bunch of funnel web spiders walking down my driveway it might liven things up a little I normally use the bath tub when washing her, since that way I can closr the door and if she escapes its easy to capture her. I've used the second dose of Frontline plus and it seems to be working pretty well so far, but I'll have to wait and see. At least my outdoors cat don't have fleas; that would be really difficult, seeingas its difficult enough to get them to stand still for you long enough to put the frontline plus on them

Yeah, I tried to tell her that funnel web spiders are hard to come across unless you went walkabout, but still.... She scares me. I turn eighteen, like, soon. Bye bye!
Yeah, as long as she hasn't given the little invertibrates to the rest of your cats.
Good point, we've got a barn cat- well, had. They don't stay so long in our barn. The last one was killed by the fox.... Which is odd, because that little fox is the tiniest thing in the world.
